Express Entry

Express Entry (EE) is an online immigration application scheme. One can submit a profile and to be considered as a skilled immigrant. Applicants with the highest rankings are invited to apply for permanent residency.

What is Express Entry and how does it work?

Express Entry is not an immigration program, it’s just an online system formed to manage Canada’s immigration applications intake.

Applicants meeting the eligibility criteria can submit an online profile known as an Expression of interest (EOI), under one of the three federal Canada immigration programs or a participating provincial immigration program, to the Express Entry Pool.

Applicants profiles are ranked against each other according to a points-based system called the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). The highest ranked applicant will get an invitation to apply (ITA) for permanent residence. Those receiving an ITA must submit a full application and pay processing fees, within 60-days.

The federal government aims to process complete PR applications in only 6 months.

Potential applicants will need to be eligible under one of the following federal economic immigration programs.

  • The Federal Skilled Worker (FSW).
  • The Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
  • The Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC)

Qualification for EE?

Applicants can qualify for Express Entry if he meets the eligibility criteria for the Skilled Worker program, Skilled Trades program, or Canadian Experience Class.
